We had in our hands one of Tronsmart’s most recent Bluetooth speakers , the Tronsmart T7 , an object capable of offering very good performance at a cost accessible to all. Among the minor brands linked to this type of technological products, the name Tronsmart is not a name on everyone’s lips, but in recent times it has been rapidly making its way thanks to promotional campaigns of considerable caliber (the footballer Luis Suarez is ambassador of Tronsmart ) and not only.
Tronsmart has in fact decided to become an interesting point of reference for value for money , and the T7 speaker is able to satisfy many needs with class and determination.
Let’s start immediately with the analysis of the speaker body, which is anything but portable: the T7 is large. Really big. Not only in height (about 22 cm), but also in weight: with its almost 900 grams, the T7 speaker is a nice “brick” to carry with you, even if it still qualifies as portable.
Nonetheless, thanks to its cylindrical design , to be honest not particularly original but surmounted by a strip with bright LEDs that are activated when turned on, it is also a good ornament for the home, to be placed next to the TV or bookcase to be turned on in any time.
However, the T7 is not only suitable for home use, on the contrary. Being covered with IPX7 waterproof fabric (slightly rough and useful for holding it without difficulty) (it can resist in water for up to 30 minutes), as well as robust plastic which significantly increases its resistance to impacts and falls, the speaker is also suitable to different contexts, be it a pool party or a mountain hike in the rain. Although in that case it would be better to stay at home altogether, that’s it.
At the top there is a volume wheel, useful for speeding up the management of this without necessarily having to go through the phone or other devices – with Bluetooth, version 5.3, the speaker cannot only be connected to the phone (also for calls) , but also to Siri, Cortana and Google.
With the power button, present on the back of the speaker, it is also possible to quickly switch to the various audio modes (we will see them shortly); in addition to this, there are buttons for playback, activating Bluetooth, pairing with other speaker devices, and two buttons for going forward or backward between songs.
There is also a USB-C compartment (cable included in the package), hidden by a rubber closure, to recharge the battery (the duration is between 10 and 12 hours, according to our tests), as well as a slot for Micro- Very functional SD : without necessarily having to connect to other devices, you can listen to songs, podcasts or other things through the memory card.
In the upper part there is also a cord, useful for tying the T7 and not losing it – even if, with its weight, you will hardly notice that you have lost it. Also worth highlighting is the availability of a Tronsmart mobile app , which allows you to remotely control the speaker and change the playback modes. The T7 also includes a built-in microphone for Bluetooth phone calls.
Moving on to actual use, Tronsmart T7 fulfills its duties very well. Like many other speakers, the Tronsmart T7 also offers 360° audio (even if the presence of the buttons “covers” part of this totality), obtaining a very good diffusion of sound, clean and pleasant in all its available options (Default, Sound Pulse , Deep Bass, Classical, Rock and Custom). The modes that offer the best experience are certainly Sound Pulse and Deep Bass, and the bass in particular is produced with remarkable quality for the very accessible price of this speaker.
We tried it not only with songs, in which even the most secondary instruments emerge with pleasure, but also with film soundtracks (that of TRON: Legacy is always an obligatory passage for our tests, as well as Interstellar , Dunkirk and The Dark Knight ) and the films themselves. Sure, the experience isn’t comparable to that of a professional soundbar, but the T7 does enough to make us feel satisfied. The difference between bass and treble is pronounced enough to add great feel to the track, and vocals are consistently well handled in all situations we tested.
The multi-driver configuration includes two side tweeters, two side woofers for bass and a larger driver at the bottom. The diffusion turns out to be notable, and the only difference noticed when rotating or moving the speaker concerns the presence of the rear buttons, already mentioned previously. The sound quality also decreases by placing the T7 horizontally, which in any case is designed to remain vertical. The output power of 30 W guarantees the speaker remarkable quality.

Overall, the Tronsmart T7 is quite impressive for a speaker sold at this price. With the possibility of connecting two T7s together it is also possible to significantly improve the audio performance, and the songs played also benefit – by playing with the various settings you can obtain configurations that are also useful for films, for example.
How do I connect my Tronsmart to Bluetooth?
Turn ON the speaker, the blue LED light flashes, and then activate the Bluetooth in your device. Go to device’s Bluetooth settings, scan for new Bluetooth devices and upon discovering the device ‘Tronsmart Element Groove’, click to pair with it. Hold Play/Pause button for 8 seconds to disconnect the Bluetooth.
