Tecno Phantom 8 Full-Review, Specifications & Price

Whenever you see phantom what comes to your mind? i’m pretty sure the answer is “Priceless”.

I believe we have all heard about the phantom rolls royce, or the phantom music producer lol!!, well i am not discussing about all that in this article.

Here i am writing about the Tecno phantom 8  an amazing smart phone among all the series of phones the tecno brand has released over the years.

tecno phantom 8

Tecno Phantom 8 is the latest flagship smartphone from Tecno that looks to take things up from where the impressive Phantom 6 and 6 Plus left off. This handheld device comes loaded with dual camera’s, speedy octa-core processor and an excess abundant RAM.

What is more, you can tune the screen your liking with Mira Vision. The tool allows adjustment of picture mode, where colors can be changed to a vivid, standard or user mode.

Depending on your eyeballs, you can pick what suits you best. Personally, I prefer the standard mode, which, if you are really keen, tends to over sharpen images.

    • Fingerprint Scanner (Rear)
    • 3500 mAh Battery
    • 64GB Storage with support for memory card up to 256GB
    • 12MP + 13MP Dual Rear Camera and 20MP Front Camera
    • 4G LTE Data (up to 300 Mbps downloads)
    • 5.7-inch IPS Display, 1080 x 1920 pixels (400PPI)
    • 2.6GHz octa-core Mediatek Helio P25 CPU with 6GB RAM
    • Android 7.0 (Nougat) with HiOS

Tecno Phantom 8 supports a 5.7-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. You may expect a slightly sharper image than what the predecessor offered. There is robust Corning Gorilla Glass to protect against scratches.

It sports a metallic chassis with an alluring 3D ‘Diamond Fire Design’ for a premium touch. The edges are curvy and the overall profile is rather svelte at 7.9 millimeters.

The phone is slick and classy, comes in very handy and can be compared with other smartphones.

smart phones that are manufactured with dual rear camera’s often has the best picture quality.

Tecno Phantom 8 combines a 12MP sensor with a 13MP sensor for greater image depth and quality. You get Tri-LED flash, autofocus and 10X zoom among the shot features.

The camera application has several shooting modes. One of them is Refocus that focuses on a subject and blurs the background.

I’m no camera expert, but I will tell you the photos taken by the Phantom 8 are rich in fine detail when the primary 12 MP camera is used to the fullest. While noise can be spotted in tricky setups, especially in low light, colors are nicely balanced.

Bright selfies are on the card with this one. Hooray!! there is an amazing 20MP camera with dual-LED flash on the front. Selfie lovers and all lovers of photography are sure going to love this mode.

For smart phone explorer’s, Applications and games will run with practically no glitch on the Tecno Phantom 8.

You can micromanage how apps behave. What is more, you can theme the entire system, switch between fonts, and so many customization options.

This is because it boasts an octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 processor that gets support from generous 6GB RAM. The system memory is the company’s best ever that has been manufactured from time memorial.

For storage, you get 64GB space on the inside. This is expandable by out-dropping 2 TB using a microSD card. The Tecno Phantom 8 ships with Android 7.0 Nougat sporting HiOS 3.0 skin – this is a tad disappointing. But there’s promise of upgrade most definitely.
The Phantom 8 is a large device. I get most of us are used to large phones, which range from the budget segment all the way to premium devices.

the Tecno Phantom 8 comes with a 3,500mAh battery. However, this supports fast charging to reduce the amount of time it stays in the socket.

Tecno may have reduced the size of the Phantom 8 in comparison to its predecessors but that does not mean longevity has seen a cut as well. To be honest, for the first two days, I was quite unimpressed with battery behavior, until the device miraculously learned my usage pattern. It is great, to say the least.

Tecno Phantom 8 features a fingerprint scanner and supports fast LTE connectivity. It has a USB Type-C port, dual SIM slots, USB On-The-Go (OTG), and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with Wi-Fi Direct.

Tecno Phantom 8 is now available in Nigeria, Mozambique, Ghana and Kenya. You can buy the Android phone at leading e- commerce online stores in the countries. Tecno Phantom 8 price in Nigeria ranges from (NGN)121,000 Naira to (NGN) 170,000 Naira.

  • Camera performance is great for the price.
  • Battery life is terrific.
  • Day to day performance is admirable.
