The Samsung Galaxy A71 packs in a big 6.7-inch display, four rear cameras and a huge 4,500mAh battery at a price point which won’t break the bank. It is a winning formula for the samsung brand. Though it is not water resistant and it has got no wireless charging but it is still top notch all the same.

You will enjoy a premium camera experience when using this phone. It’s samsung for crying out loud how mad can it be. While It’s no secret that this phone is aimed more at the TikTok generation – a younger audience ( and believe me we’ve got this here in Nigeria) which spends a lot of time online, consuming and creating high volumes of video content.


The Galaxy A71 measures 163.6 x 76 x 7.7mm and weighs 179g, which makes it relatively manageable to use. Those with smaller hands will still find it pretty massive though, and stretching your thumb to the top of the screen is a puzzle – especially when you are using just one hand to operate the device.

The rear panel house the rectangle camera with an LED flash and the branded logo. It also features a 6.7-inch Super-AMOLED Infinity-O display that is integrated with a fingerprint reader. On the right you’ll find easy-to-reach power and volume keys, while on the bottom there’s a headphone jack alongside the 25W fast-charging USB-C port.

There’s a fingerprint scanner embedded into the display as well, plus the option to use face recognition to unlock the phone instead.

The handheld device supports for a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a tall aspect ratio of 20:9. The screen has display protection and a higher screen to body ratio of 87.2%. You can easily watch Game of thrones or Aqua man on Netflix with this phone comfortably.

Plus you also get 5MP macro and 5MP depth cameras for close-up shots and background blur effects (which Samsung calls Live Focus) respectively. The primary camera consist of an f/1.8 aperture 64-megapixel main lens, an f/2.2 aperture 5-megapixel depth sensor, an f/2.4 aperture 5-megapixel macro lens and lastly an f/2.2 aperture 12-megapixel ultra wide sensor.


The Samsung Galaxy A71 uses a 4,500mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. And as for the Network, the dual SIM has 4G LTE networks for fast browsing and downloads.

Other connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy A71 are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, a hotspot for wireless internet connection, Bluetooth, A-GPS for car or walking movement navigation, FM radio for entertainment, NFC for sharing of data and 2.0, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector for file transfer and charging.


For the software, the device comes running Android 10, which felt fluid and fast under-finger, and you also get 128GB of storage to play with which, for many, will be more than enough. So if you do run out of space on your device, the Galaxy A71 also has a microSD slot which supports cards up to 512GB in size.

On the hardware, Samsung Galaxy A71 is blessed with an upper mid-range Snapdragon 730 chipset based on 8 nm process technology with an octa-core processor clocking at a speed of 2.2 GHz.
