The Find series has always pushed the boundaries of technology, to constantly create new possibilities. Now we’re doing it again, awakening your senses, with the new Find X2 series.

While we uncover the ultimate design, we need to know that beauty is beyond the visual. This is because Finding the X2 series features a simple, tangible elegance that takes off the edge. With smoothed curves that fit perfectly in your hand, this is a beauty you can feel from your eyes to your fingertips.

Sturdy and transparent glass plus vacuum plating equals a unique look that truly stands out. Shimmering in different colors from different angles, an exquisite ripple pattern underlies a finish that feels as glossy as it looks.

Design & Display

Find X2 series brings visuals to life with over 1 billion colors (8+2-bit) – 64 times the typical number (8-bit). Now, color transitions look smooth, and every detail shines through in natural, lifelike vibrancy.

The display wraps ever-so-slightly around the side of the phone, met by an aluminum frame that is colored gold on my model. The back of the phone wraps around similarly, which results in an undoubtedly classy-looking device.

The selfie camera is a punch hole in the top left side of the display. I have personally always been a huge fan of this configuration. I think it looks premium, and because the camera is about the size of a notification it doesn’t get in the way.

Although, the original Find X had 3D face unlock, which is more secure and allows you to unlock your phone in the dark. There is standard face unlock on this device and it is quite fast, but 3D would be better.

The brands adaptive eye protection is smart and considerate, this is as a result of their AI Adaptive Eye Protection System which automatically chooses the optimal color temperature and brightness for your surroundings, keeping your eyes feeling comfortable. With TÜV Rheinland Full Care Display Certification, your eyes are under the best care possible.

Camera & Performance

The Oppo Find X2 Pro includes three cameras. The main lens uses the Sony IMX689 sensor, a 48MP shooter that is an update to the popular Sony IMX586 from last year. It bins down by a factor of four to 12MP.

Though it doesn’t match the 108MP sensor on the S20 Ultra, the individual pixel size of the X2 Pro is larger. Binned pixels are a bit smaller, but that could be a good thing in this case.

The S20 Ultra’s main sensor was almost too shallow, making photos of an object taken close up fall out of focus. The Oppo Find X2 doesn’t suffer from this problem, but it still has a very nice focus falloff.

So, if you’re taking photos of things at a close distance, portrait mode isn’t necessary with this sensor.

Videos have never looked as good as they do with this brand-new O1 Ultra Vision Engine. An optimization chip ensures excellent image quality, and even ordinary videos can be transformed into high-frame-rate HDR masterpieces.

Combined with Dolby Atmos and dual stereo speakers, it’s like having a private movie theatre in your pocket.

Still, While the Oppo Find X2 Pro doesn’t quite have the 100x Space Zoom or 5,000mAh battery of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, it does match or best it in nearly every other department. This means you will not notice any hiccups or stuttering.

The 120Hz refresh rate display and 240Hz touch response rate makes this device look and feel wicked fast. Oppo also seems to have adopted the OnePlus style of using faster animation speeds, which increase the feeling of speed on the unit as well.

Find X2 breaks boundaries for easier recording, with its 48MP wide-angle lens, 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and 13MP telephoto lens. All three lenses operate in tandem, achieving 5x hybrid zoom. From photos to videos, every shot is an effortless masterpiece, no matter the scenario.

The Oppo Find X2 is also equipped with a Sony IMX586 48MP wide angle camera. With its 1/2.0 ” large sensors, f/1.7 aperture, and multi-frame noise reduction technology, you can capture every detail of the night, keeping photos looking crisp and clear even in the darkest settings.

Ultra Night Mode algorithms apply to all three lenses, so you can take epic night shots from any distance. With this brand you can uncover the ultimate camera.

Software & Hardware

The Find X2 is ever so slightly shorter than the Find X2 Pro and noticeably thinner. Up front it has the same premium 6.7-inch 1440p AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate, which is easily among the best displays in the market.

The non-Pro Find X2 loses the IP68 water and dust protection and is only splash-proof. The Find X2 Pro comes with a 65W charger, USB-C cable, USB-C headphones and a complimentary silicone case.

The Oppo Find X2 brings a Snapdragon 865 chipset, 12GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage and China also gets 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB versions. It’s a snappy phone, not least thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate of the display.

By default, the phone’s software will determine at what refresh rate to run the display – either 60Hz or 120Hz – but you can also manually select either mode.

Oppo Find X2 Price

It’s obviously not the cheapest smartphone on the market (at well over £1,000), but it’s worth the money if you’re already considering a premium Android bit of kit and don’t want to splurge the better part of £1500 on a phone like the S20 Ultra or the Huawei P40 Pro Plus.

One of the best phones of 2020 has just arrived, and we’re not even halfway through the year.
